Not too late: Valley Forge Rev Run

A quick advertisement at the top for our next Grand Prix event: The Valley Forge Revolutionary Run 5 Miler. It’s not too late to join us for this race. Online registration is open here!
Valley Forge is well-placed as a final Broad Street tune up and it’s always fun to visit the historical park. Importantly, a $10 post-race brunch at McKenzie’s Brew House is offered to all runners.

Race Results

PRTC members continue to prep for soon arriving focus races like the Boston Marathon, Penn Relays and Broad Street. Nevertheless, we had members take on two local races this weekend and are happy to report the following results:
Dynise Balcavage snagged 1st place female at the Cherry Blossom 5k after signing up for the race as an easy way to get a tempo in. Congrats Dynise for the overall win and conquering Black Road Hill in the process!
Meanwhile, at Clean Air, PRTC took on both the 5k and 10k. Before anyone expresses too much alarm at our 5k times, it should be noted that the course was long. Chris Mateer won the day (by a healthy margin) with his 16:42 finish. Kevin followed with a 4th place result and improvement over the Adrenaline 5k. Alex Tozzo also improved upon Adrenaline and had a chance to get a real warmup in this week!
In the 10k (accurate distance), Breandan Lyman earned a 3rd place finish and nearly PR’d in the process with a 33:48. The PRTC women’s squad showed strength in the 10k sweeping the podium! Margaret was first in with a fast 34:58. Meghan locked up second with 37:18 and Liz Barrett took 3rd with 38:54 before looking to get in a second workout later in the day. Congrats to all!
