A New Year

Happy 2017! While most of us are motivated year-round, now is a great time to sketch out upcoming running goals. To this tune, we’re releasing our preliminary spring schedule. The full 2017 Grand-Prix schedule will be available shortly and we’ll be adding track meets(!) soon as well.

2017 looks like an exceptionally good year for the club to focus on the Broad Street 10 Mile Run. The race is always on the first Sunday of May which lands on May 7th this year. This means those racing the Boston Marathon or Penn Relays have the maximum amount of recovery time if they want to take on both the marathon/relays and Broad Street.

Lastly, we’ll soon be returning to Franklin Field for Tuesday night workouts. We’re excited to get back to workouts at the track. We’re also looking forward to growing participation at the Sunday long run. Speaking from experience, winter training is much easier with friends and teammates. Let’s take full advantage of our email lists, weekly runs and training partners to make the most of 2017!

Membership Renewals
Many of our USATF memberships likely expired at the end of 2016. Keeping an active USATF membership with the club is the only thing we ask of people to be on PRTC. It’s just $30 and easily pays for itself. For those who hold active memberships, we are able to offer free entry to select races (worth $100’s) as well as uniforms and other benefits. Our USATF affiliation allows us to compete as a team in the Grand Prix Series as well as at Club XC and Track Nationals. To renew (or sign up for the first time!), click this link.
